We regret that we can no longer sell "contract
houses." Given the current and extreme shortages of
both materials and labor, together with the inability to
determine what final costs will be, Autumn Homes can no
longer guarantee future prices to customers. We have in
the past locked in our prices to Buyers, only to watch construction
schedules slow to a crawl and our costs rise dramatically
during that construction period. We have in the past always
honored our contract prices to customers, but that has recently
led to significant losses for us. Therefore we will
not be entering into contracts for new construction.
Going forward, we intend to build
only inventory houses for our own account. When
those homes are nearing completion and costs can be calculated
with some degree of certainty, we will then offer them to
customers at the best prices available.
If you would like to be on a notification
list and receive a call or e-mail as those inventory homes
become available for your inspection, please provide us
with the necessary contract information. In the event labor,
material, and scheduling issues return to conditions of
predictability, we will again welcome the opportunity to
return to "contract building" for our customers.
We wish to thank our customers for their understanding
and patience during this difficult period. We are looking
forward to providing in the future the best possible values
in distinctive new homes.
